Cameras are everywhere. There’s one in your laptop, two in your phone, and probably a pair in your tablet that you’ve never used. There’s maybe one in your doorbell or strapped to your head while you bomb the slopes. We’re taking more pictures in more ways and sharing them in more places than ever. Yet most of us use our cameras with the bare minimum of knowledge, just pointing and shooting and hoping for an Instagram-able moment. And even if you’re buying a DSLR camera from your nearest store that’s because you’re ready to move beyond your iPhone and take pictures you’ll want to save forever, it’s hard to know what to do.

There might be various parameters required to get a good camera, but these are some basic parameters that you should be looking for. First and foremost, consider the type of photography or videography you plan to do. If you're interested in shooting action or sports, look for a camera with fast autofocus and image stabilization. 

For landscape photography, look for a camera with a high-quality sensor and wide-angle lens. This will allow you to capture stunning, detailed images of the scenery, with a wide field of view. 

If you're interested in portrait photography, look for a camera with a wide aperture lens and shallow depth of field. This will help you create a blurred background effect, perfect for isolating your subject and creating a professional-looking portrait. 

Finally, consider the connectivity features of the camera. Look for a camera with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, which will allow you to easily transfer your photos and videos to your computer or smartphone, or share them directly on social media.
